Chris Wellschris@secondchancephotography.com My photography is a recently acquired passion to try to capture a bit of the beauty and majesty I feel when out in nature, in particular the Rocky Mountains. I have scaled over half of the Colorado 14ers and know how difficult it is to capture, whether in words or photography the sheer magnificence of standing on top of the world – taking in the 360 degrees on display at your feet. After my heart attack, I truly wanted to try, in some small way to attempt to capture what was inspiring to me. The work thus far has been an exciting journey of looking at the world from a completely different perspective. I find myself looking for the perspective out of the norm. When I am hiking and find that ‘Aha’ moment, I know it is time to try to capture as much of that as possible. It has been an exciting and rewarding passion that only gets better as I become more immersed in the different aspects of photography. I grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area), went to Houghton College (western New York), taught school in Honolulu, HI and Cedar Falls, IA before leaving teaching to enter the tech world. I managed a computer store, created, managed, and sold a state-wide Internet Service Provider and an online ecommerce business. Moving to Colorado, I became an avid hiker while selling cars for a few years before consulting with dealers around the country regarding their internet presence. Now I do database consulting for an international company while pursuing my passion for photography.
